One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Launched on November 15, 2015, on the eve of World Antibiotic Awareness Week, the open-access TIPS Journal met the call to action by Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe World Economic Forum has identified antibiotic resistance as a global risk beyond the capacity of any one organization or nation to manage or mitigate alone.\u201d<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In addressing this concern to the G7 Health Ministers on October 8, 2015, Dr. Chan concluded her statements with the following observation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Consumer groups and civil society can play an important role in combating antimicrobial resistance. They are important movers, shakers, and front-line players, especially in this age of social media.<\/em>“<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Therein lies the value of TIPS: The Infection Prevention Strategy<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don<\/span> Lee<\/span><\/div>

Host<\/p>

Don helps organizations launch new Health IT products and services.  He\u2019s a product and business development consultant and accomplished Health IT expert with a 20-year track record of driving value with technology.<\/p>

Don began his career as a custom software developer and eventually built and led a team of more than 30 engineers.  Later, he was the subject matter expert, product manager and head of sales and marketing for a digital health startup that launched a SaaS-platform focused on administrative simplification in healthcare.<\/p>

Today, Don is President of Glide Health IT, LLC<\/a>, a consulting firm that helps forward-looking organizations align their Health IT and business strategies. The firm specializes in business and product development with a focus on data aggregation, interop, analytics, and quality measurement.<\/p>

Don creates and hosts podcasts including The #HCBiz Show!<\/a>, The Practice Marketing Podcast<\/a> and The Infection Prevention Strategy (TIPS) Deep Dive Interview Series<\/a>.<\/p>

Don is a co-founder and partner at VBP Forward<\/a>, an organization that\u2019s building a bridge between community based organizations and the healthcare system through educational content, workshops and conferences.<\/p><\/div>

Michael<\/span> Diamond<\/span><\/div>

Executive Director, TIPS<\/p>

Michael Diamond is the co-founder of The Infection Prevention Strategy (TIPS), a not-for-profit that has contributed millions in scientific impact since 2015. Michael is devoted to advancing information and science to address the myriad issues relating to infection prevention and global health.<\/p>

Mr. Diamond is driven by the firm belief that we should not have to wait years for promising technology, ideas and processes to be implemented and accepted. Michael has created a model of information sharing that makes the process of vetting new technologies, implementing successful programs and inspiring innovation, more efficient, more accessible, more global and more collaborative.<\/p>

Michael\u2019s most notable achievement to date is the TIPS Journal (InfectionControl.tips), an open-access, worldwide collective that extends globally and touches locally. Michael leads teams around the world to develop trials and pilot studies to aid in the discovery of successful research-to-market technological advancements. His global team includes engagers and implementers. TIPS now reaches more than 30 countries, and its motto is: Join. Contribute. Make A Difference.<\/p><\/div>
